OSSRA Report

The Open Source Security and Risk Analysis (OSSRA) Report was Synopsys' highest lead-generating content asset, originally launched in 2017 following its origins at Black Duck. Each annual edition translated 20+ datasets from real-world codebase scans into a comprehensive research publication exceeding 10,000 words, serving as the centerpiece of an integrated campaign spanning web, social, paid media, and interactive experiences. I led the visual system each year, ensuring that dense, research-heavy content remained both engaging and easy to navigate.

Challenge

Challenge

The primary tension was making a data-intensive annual report feel fresh without drifting from Synopsys brand standards, while also scaling the visual system across a full integrated campaign. Each edition required close collaboration with web, video, and international teams to maintain cohesion across formats and regions, and every iteration needed to hold up against the previous year's benchmarks without simply repeating the same approach.

Design Solution

Design Solution

I developed a visual direction grounded in Synopsys brand standards while pushing for freshness and clarity each year. Data was translated into layered, information-rich visualizations designed to support year-over-year comparison and surface key trends without sacrificing readability. The report was treated as a modular system extending across infographics, interactive microsites, social assets, email, and paid media, with consistent visual logic threading across every format and region. I also acted as art director for graphically designed teaser videos to support the asset launch.

Outcome

Outcome

The OSSRA Report consistently ranked as Synopsys' top lead-generating content asset, driving significant enterprise engagement year over year. The annual redesign approach kept the report visually credible and brand-consistent while reinforcing Synopsys' authority in the open source security space. Multi-language execution ensured global accessibility and consistent storytelling across regions, while the integrated campaign structure expanded reach well beyond the core report audience.
